Lloyd Hillier Tournament '12

The Lloyd Hillier tournament is set to go for 2012 and will be at Centennial Arena from March 30th through April 1st, 2012 

 

Tournament Rules

It is the responsibility of the coaching staff to review all the “House Rules”, so that each player is familiar with the tournament rules and so that there will be no misunderstanding in any game.

Situations not governed by the rules of hockey (NYHL,GTHL,CAHA) will be decided by the Tournament committee- who’s decision will be final. NO PROTEST WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Divisional Round Robin Games

Three ten minute periods.

Semi’s and Finals

4 team divisions:  1st plays 2nd. • Final
6  team division: Top 4 advance

Finals

Tyke to PeeWee   10 • 10 • 10
Bantam to Midget Jr. 10 • 10 • 12

In the event of a tie a ten minute sudden death overtime period. If still tied, 5 minute 3 on 3 sudden death until a winner is decided. All penalties during 3 on 3 will result in a penalty shot.

Tie Breaking Formula

In case of a tie in divisional play, to determine playoff positions the tie will be broken according to the following methods in order of preference:

1. Record against other team(s) involved (head to head)
2. Total goals for and against divided into goals for with the highest percentage (to 3 decimal places) winning
3. Team with the least number of penalty minutes
4. A single toss of the coin

Five Goal Spread

If a five goal spread or more exists at the end of the second  period or at anytime throughout the third period, running time will be instituted for the balance of the game, or until a 2 goal spread.

Time Limit

Maximum game time for round robin play is 60 minutes.

Time Out

No time out allowed during the round robin play. A 30 second time out is allowed during semi finals and finals.
